Zombie Parasites Invade our Bodies
Many have heard the telling
tales of the Walking Dead and Zombie Apocalypse. These stories of horror makes
your flesh crawl right up your body as you imagine those days of past when
those you worked with told of tales where they experienced a graveyard
nightmare right up to the early morning hours.
Tales that tell of relieve
as darkness fades and the sun rises above the Superstition Mountains located
just a few miles away from the desolate prison complex hidden in the Sonora
desert. This huge prison complex lies
just about an hour away as the crow flies from the sprawling metropolis of
Phoenix Arizona.
Hearing nightly and
horrifying stories of freaked out not-so-human creatures killing each other and
mutilating those still human makes you want to go down to your local gun store
and buy you enough guns and ammo to kill them all. Facing the twilight of day,
they will walk wherever they dare. Some will enter your neighborhood located so
close to the prison grounds. A fenced off perimeter where the razor wire divides the darkness and hides the
reality of horror and fright so close to home.
Working the graveyard
shift makes you vulnerable to those creepers that seek out the living and eat
the raw pinkish flesh like a glutton at a sushi bar. Seeking the unnatural will
only bring your death and mourning as a human without a gun is no match for the
supernatural being that dwell there in those hollow prison walls built to keep
men in and strangers out.
Offering strangers that
come into the hood a gun to protect themselves form these creatures that roam
is the only sanity to the madness that surrounds you. Your instinctual level to
survive supersedes the willingness to surrender and fall prey to these
flesh-eating non-living things that seek to gorge on unsuspected humans for
their nightly meal.
Such are the many cultural
tales of the undead walking among the mortals of this Earth. Mutated beings
showing up unexpectedly inside circles of society not too far away from where
the death house rings a bells each time a human is executed or injected with
the yellow and clear poison driven into their veins through tubes and needles
designed to take away the pain forever.
Every night when the sun
goes down, it is just a matter of time before the zombies show up to feed upon
those unprotected and unarmed against their razor sharp teeth and bear-like
claws as they mutilate they meals and stuff themselves until the sun comes up
and drives them away to the darkness for another day. What are these creatures
that lurk out there and what created their being as these zombie like monsters
rule the very ground they walk on in a dead and mindless manner?
One must understand how
zombies can be formed or created and within the prison grounds there are the
exact ingredients necessary for such a mutation to begin and create the zombie
population. Zombies are parasitic by nature. They are fairly common and roam
many places unnoticed by those that turn out their lights inside their homes
and shelters.
Zombies are turned into
mindless freaks because of the conditions that exist around the prison grounds
that breed toxic waste and excess feces infested materials with a variety of
bugs and matter eaten by cats and dogs
Huge black crows that
frequent the trash bins and small rodents and varmints that roam freely through
the trash containers and storage bins waiting for the weekly haul by the Waste
Management trucks to take it away and dump it nearby in another toxic waste
ground only five miles out of town but a short enough distance for zombies to
walk and invade the neighborhood uninvited and often undetected.
Dragging their dead like
limbs down the road these mindless zombie like slaves to blood and flesh seek
out those who body temperature is warmer than theirs. Infested with parasites
they transfer the carriers from one place to another and harvest their progress
during the day as when we are awake they sleep and when we are asleep, they
walk.
Devoted to terrify humans
they are troublesome and often unpleasantly smelly as they approach the streets
under the cover of black and darkness. A two pronged attack that is often
unnoticed these zombie do their harm through contamination of foods and the
transfer of infections usually left untreated by unaware victims that will fall
to their poison as the toxic waste breeds inside their intestines and covert
their hearts and body into mindless creatures of doom. Rats and cats and dogs
and birds can carry the parasite to wherever it lives whether in a home or a
barn, a field or a store. It’s the beginning of the end where the venomous
fluids created by these parasites invades and swims inside the blood streams of
humans that will fall victim before the end of a two night stand and often less
than that.
Intentionally designed to
eat the brain and create the mindless status, it is filled with a green liquid
that has replaced the red corpuscles in our blood. The transformation is silent
and as the parasite takes over the freaking brain swells until it bursts
intentionally making a splatter pattern that allows the parasites to seek new
hosts as they crawl off the walls. Slowly but effectively they creep into the
food and feces of these animals and small household creatures that we so
lovingly stroke, pet and kiss without knowing they are infecting our systems
with the poison that will kill us before too long. This parasite is programmed
to kill us and we don’t even know it.
After all humans and rats,
cats, dogs and crows aren’t all that much different. They each have an internal
system that we can test for drugs and see how they react under different
conditions. Many don’t realize these parasites invade the intestines and live
there until its time to kill. One should wonder how many times we have
transferred or transplanted a virus or bug infested with this parasite and
realize that no matter where they go, you cannot hide from them any longer.

Leadership is not talking but doing it
Imagine that our lawmakers are our leaders of the present
and the future. Imagine they are innovators and finding ways to protect us and
keep us safe as well as finding ways to keep us from paying higher taxes and misspending
more money on wasteful projects or government expenses. Imagine they are doers
and not talkers. Every now and then you have to roll the dice in your life and
go do something courageous or bold. Not only does this make your time on Earth
more interesting but is demonstrates you are willing to leave the pack and lead
by example.
To become a better leader you have to become an innovator and finding productive ways about experiencing as many creative thinking cycles of actually doing something as long as you can. When faced with challenges you must act; you must learn and you must follow through to finalize your solution. The sooner you learn the sooner you get it done. In doing something about the challenges facing us you become a learner. You begin to know more about the resolution at hand and the matter in general.
The more you do, the more you learn. Making mistakes is part of the process but not making the same mistake is progress you can count on. Taking action helps you think. The more you think the more gets done. The more gets done the better you become at solving the problems for those that depend on you as an elected official. Innovative leadership is about doing, not talking.
Everybody has a dream. Some dream of becoming a fireman, a
policeman, a teacher or a doctor and some, yes some dream of being a politician
that can make a difference in someone’s life. Everybody deserves the chance of being
a leader but only real leaders step up to fill the void when the calling is
difficult or perilous. Leaders make things happen, making something happen
creates action so it fair to say that action verbs are greater in value than
nouns or titles.
Lawmakers are not necessarily leaders. One would expect them
to be to some degree but many fail the role elected for by their constituents. By
the end of the day or session, nothing was accomplished and their identity is
of those that do nothing. Leaders create opportunities for improvements,
savings or wellness whether social, economic or wellness and safety.
Are You Boring the Bored?
Have you evaluated yourself lately and determined maybe you
need to change your way in having conversations with someone lately? Let’s look
at these signs and determine the facts if you are bored or the cause of the
boredom – either way there is a need for change if you want to make your
conversations more exciting.
Sign #1 – do you repeat your responses with – Oh really?
That’s interesting? That’s funny? Or maybe hmmm is that so? – It means your
conversation is disengaged and not interesting.
Sign #2 – do you ask simple questions like “where or when
did that happen? Where is it? How do you get there? – It means they are trying
to be polite not curious at all of your topic.
Sign #3 – are there any interruptions to your words? If
there are that’s a good sign but if there aren’t any interruptions, you are
being boring.
Sign #4 – Do people paraphrase you or ask for clarification
on your words? If they are sincerely interested, they will ask you to elaborate
on your words and ask questions.
Sign #5 – Talk time out of balance – who talks more? You or
the other persons? For the sake of balancing the conversation, allow
interaction equally to share the information being discussed.
Sign # 6 – Observe the body position – are you face to face
with the other person? Are they looking away? Are they trying or pretending to
be interested in your conversation? Check their attention span and follow their
eyes going into space, rolling or gazing elsewhere.
Sign # 7 – Observe the posture – are they slouched or
leaning against something as you are speaking? Are they vertical and attentive?
Are they fidgeting and looking away or laying down? They are giving you clues
you are being boring.

Racism & Decision-Making inside Prisons
Recent racial unrest inside
Arizona prisons have been brewing heavily since a new direction came about with
the appointment of a new director in 2009. It is with reasonable suspicions
that the reason for this racial unrest is because of environmental decision
making by those in power to decide the fate of over 40,000 prisoners housed
inside Arizona prisons. This article will cover three main areas of decision
making influences that might apply to the recent behaviors by Afro American
prisoners as well as Mexican Americans and Native American prisoners. The
dynamics are fluid and much focus must be on these elements to carry out its
purpose of how the decision making instruments play into these events and
events of the past.
First thing we need to do is
to look at the “geographical equity” where
the racial composition of their executive hierarchy and decide whether or not
it is culturally balanced or not. It is suggested that the “geographical
equity” inside Arizona is much different than many other states including
neighboring states such as New Mexico and California. This racial and
geographical influence has impacted community cultural thinking and behaviors
negatively and is often in conflict with the minorities housed inside their
local prisons. There is no doubt this
creates tension between staff and prisoners daily and will eventually create a
level of resistance or rebellion in some form or another.
Look at the race of the
director, the deputy directors, the regional directors and the wardens. You
will see a definite pattern of white supremacy numbers versus the minority
races living inside Arizona. These numbers will suggest an unequal racially
impacted “environmental protection” from abuse or harmful behaviors and acts
for those of color thereby it is reasonable they will be treated different than
others. It’s a human trait to do so and
Arizona has publicly announced their status on immigration and human [civil]
rights.
Looking further into this
disparity we find this lack of racial equality numbers has severely impacted
the minority’s ability to balance what is known as the “procedural equity” process.
This is a major influence in decision making from the top on down. Going
around the geographical locations where the prisons are located you will see
the larger facilities are dominated by white administrators and thereby
controlling the majority of the prison population and in a position of control
or impose repeat and severe disciplinary actions that may result in higher
custody scores, reject inmate grievances citing no basis for such
findings, more frequently imposed
placements in administrative segregation, job parity and general opportunities
to work or program within the entire prison population.
Last but not least is what is
called the “social equity” factor
where there are conflicts with the sociological order related to race,
ethnicity, class, culture, customs and traditions, lifestyles and political
power in the geographical regions or the state. This influences decides who
gets the safe jobs, better housing, exposures to hazards or bio chemical risks
etc. and as government, in this case, the prison management team makes these
decisions, those prisoners that are poor will be more at risk of abuse and
neglect than those with stronger social or political ties within the state and
the regions they are housed.
Therefore, when you put it
all together you have formulated a decision making methodology for your own
level of “environmental justice” that impacts each race in a different manner
or level. This “environmental justice” impacts protection level, prevention of
harm, the burden of proof, proof of intent and other factors that play into due
process and equality in the manner justice is delivered. Using this criterion
to make decision on security, programs and educational benefits or programs,
those of color are not in a position to attain the full benefit of all
privileges and plans offered inside Arizona prisons. Still, even with federal
discriminatory laws in place, Arizona prisons still houses their prisoners
based on race, ethnicity or color. All you have to do is check the housing
rosters and see how they pair up the races to balance the environment.

Politicians ~ Apathy and Greed

After spending over twenty five years in public service I don’t believe
that a person’s morality diminishes with tenure. It has also been my experience
that during this term of career growth someone’s confidence increases exponentially
that allows you to make better decisions along the way. It is this confidence
that impacts so heavily and so dramatically on your moral compass and your
basic instinct to tell right from wrong.
Therefore a person that follows their own conscience is the type of
politician that will maintain self control to preserve his or her own
reputation for being honest and above reproach. Their knowledge lies on the fact
that once there is any doubt in their reputation, integrity or credibility, the
public will not take it lightly and focus on everything you do as they
illuminate any improprieties causing you the potential embarrassment,
humiliation and darkness to find a place to hide to avoid prosecution or
persecution by others. The fact is you will stand alone as not one wants to
defend someone or be associated with someone that is of ill repute and
condemned as a corrupt politician.
Of course there are those that step over this line without hesitation and
scurry into the darkness fulltime to avoid any undue attention and interests
into their transactions, decision making and executive orders. Although there
focus is to stay out of the negative public eye they are in fact hiding the
negativity in their character and morality that eventually it will be disclosed
and subjected to harshness that begins with rumors and innuendos that are hard
to control and elevate into cries of being a dishonest public servant and demands
of resignation or removal from office if elected.
Under today’s standards and morality, it has gotten so hard to be a
positive leader in such a negative society. Today elected officials, as well as
many non-elected bureaucrats come into office with a public presumption they
will quickly become just another rotten apple in an already decaying orchard
which will happen if the public becomes complacent and allows you to conduct
clandestine operations without drawing attention to yourself or your office.
In any situation where there is power and temptation it comes down to
fundamental reasoning that if you expect less from others you get less and if
you perpetuate the qualities of apathy and greed, you will fall to the same
qualities as those around you neglect to take care of business in an efficient
and lawful manner and take you down with them.

Stress and Fatigue = Burnout
This article is
written for those individuals that enjoy career and life’s challenges and have
a toolbox of talent and skills to make a difference somewhere and worthwhile to
improve on encounters to maximize their contributions to their own self and
that of the organization they belong to as they face the daily issues that
works overtime to defeat them in spirit and morale called stress and fatigue.
Defining your
abilities to face personal challenges means you have a responsibility to remain
fit and alert throughout the work day as well as your personal activities.
Everything you do is a reflection of your character, your abilities, skills and
knowledge how to handle adversity and overcome barriers in your personal life
or in the workplace. There are no exceptions and no gaps in this circle of your
life.
Lack of sleep is
a prerequisite to burnout or being unable to meet your work standards or
expectations. It is not just the mere fact of not getting enough sleep but the
consequences of running on empty to address these stress issues that exist in
the workplace. Remember that no matter where you work, there are extreme
business practices and political cultures defined by cultural expectations that
measure success and productivity.
It stands to
reason that burnout is unacceptable as standards to perform are based on
another person’s expectations to meet the bar they set for your success ladder
to exist. Burnout impact your work ethics, your abilities to complete tasks
given in a timely manner and your energy drive to hang in there for the long
run. Most organizations go for the marathon and not the sprint. This impacts
your accomplishment severely if you burn the candle at both ends either
professionally or socially. The bottom line is your actions and activity must
prove you can do it all when tasked with the responsibilities and assignment
for those special projects.
You must strive
to remain to be in self-control of your own actions and energy. You must be
willing to show at a moment’s notice you are a capable performer and ready to
meet the challenge head on. In other words, you must be better than the others
and prove you are the right person for the challenge, the promotion and the
career change when that decision comes around the table to be made.
Setting up an
office setting that is conducive in productivity, keep scheduled appointments
and be ready to be mobile are important decisions to be made and are critical
when you have to respond with a moment’s notice. Act like if you are a Boy or
Girl Scout, you must always be prepared.
In order to
remain fresh you must plan to have some down time. Some quiet places where you
can sleep, rest, read, walk or just meditate to stay focused on your life. You
must always be ready to hit the fast track and respond minute to minute to
challenges given to you because of your ability and knowledge how to handle
them. You must remain untired and always relaxed for that is the state of mind
you can be most effective.
Learning how to
deal with fatigue and stress are the two most important elements of a
successful career plan and the rest will fall into place as you focus on
meeting the challenges head on and be successful in all those endeavors you
choose to undertake and successfully complete with a satisfaction of doing it
the right way and with the right level of enthusiasm and energy,
The success also
impacts the personal home front and is an important element of your life not to
neglect. Learning how to be rested, flexible and creative with high energy does
not only apply in the workplace. It applies at home as well as you learn to
balance the two for a complete life rather than a singular position of working
only for a career. Working a high stress
job that is not managed impacts how you deal in your relationships with
spouses, kids, and family.
How we structure
our life at home or at work is about personal health and reducing the role
stress plays in your daily activities. We already know that high stress impacts
high blood pressure, heart diseases and diabetes and must be under control at
all times. When you are untired your health increases and allows you to perform
at a maximum level rather than adequate or mere meeting the standards set. Being untired affects your decision making,
your role within the workplace or family and avoids disasters or accidents to
keep you safe.
Sleep
deprivation impacts the unconscious mind [mental performance] as it
destructively impacts our ability to control our own emotions, our moods, and
our ability to focus on problem solving issues at hand. It impacts cognitive
abilities and stands in the way of failure or success for those individuals
that desire a better career and an improved quality of living.
