Letter to Doug Ducey, Governor
January 6, 2015
From day one, the Democrats are decoding your leadership and your campaign promises. What really matters is whether or not what you do for the people of Arizona is good or not so good and not what the Democrats want of wish you would do. I know it’s no secret you are a leader, an effective leader and someone who will take care of business.
Arizona is in deep
trouble. Speaking as a registered Republican, we are deep in fiscal
difficulties and we need leadership that drives down the deficit and bring back
some of the surplus we had many years ago. I believe you are the man who can do
this with your business skills and high performance energy.
The hard part is
consistency. We are doing things today in this state that we need to change,
reverse or re-prioritize. Some examples are the protection of our children, the
educational system and the border security matter.
Also in dire need of
change is the way Arizona drives up prison populations and increases the costs
of incarceration much higher than other states. We need prison leadership
reforms and policy changes.
The values of these things
brings me to ask how you are going to resolve this issue. Status quo in my
opinion is not going to allow us to get out of the red and back into the black.
We know consistency is a vital and
critical part of leadership for it sends a unified and clear message to those
who work for you.
I know you are a man who
defines contextual materials as a necessity for a standard baseline or
foundation. I hope you capture the ability to do this. Your inaugural speech
was motivational to many who still believe Arizona can be one of the top ten
states in the country.
You shaped your speech
around people, opportunities and vision. It was indeed an enthusiastic
communication to say the least. I know your mission will bear fruit. I know
your leadership will bring hope and opportunities. I know you will assess each
state agency and make relevant changes to move forwards and not backwards. I
support you in your difficult endeavor to bring Arizona out of the darkness and
back into the light.
