Politicians ~ Apathy and Greed

 

After spending over twenty five years in public service I don’t believe that a person’s morality diminishes with tenure. It has also been my experience that during this term of career growth someone’s confidence increases exponentially that allows you to make better decisions along the way. It is this confidence that impacts so heavily and so dramatically on your moral compass and your basic instinct to tell right from wrong.

H ence there is a powerful balance for the need or desire to maintain political acceptance within a circle of friends, organization or government that creates the temptation to use what powers your position offers to help others. In addition to finding shortcuts to political bureaucracy your help or desire to help others should be within the legal limitations provided and not push the envelope of corruption or abuse of resources to create fear or destroy the credibility of others as it is this access to power that is in all actuality the very same power that keeps you in office or position.

Therefore a person that follows their own conscience is the type of politician that will maintain self control to preserve his or her own reputation for being honest and above reproach. Their knowledge lies on the fact that once there is any doubt in their reputation, integrity or credibility, the public will not take it lightly and focus on everything you do as they illuminate any improprieties causing you the potential embarrassment, humiliation and darkness to find a place to hide to avoid prosecution or persecution by others. The fact is you will stand alone as not one wants to defend someone or be associated with someone that is of ill repute and condemned as a corrupt politician.

Of course there are those that step over this line without hesitation and scurry into the darkness fulltime to avoid any undue attention and interests into their transactions, decision making and executive orders. Although there focus is to stay out of the negative public eye they are in fact hiding the negativity in their character and morality that eventually it will be disclosed and subjected to harshness that begins with rumors and innuendos that are hard to control and elevate into cries of being a dishonest public servant and demands of resignation or removal from office if elected.

Under today’s standards and morality, it has gotten so hard to be a positive leader in such a negative society. Today elected officials, as well as many non-elected bureaucrats come into office with a public presumption they will quickly become just another rotten apple in an already decaying orchard which will happen if the public becomes complacent and allows you to conduct clandestine operations without drawing attention to yourself or your office.

In any situation where there is power and temptation it comes down to fundamental reasoning that if you expect less from others you get less and if you perpetuate the qualities of apathy and greed, you will fall to the same qualities as those around you neglect to take care of business in an efficient and lawful manner and take you down with them.

 

 

Stress and Fatigue = Burnout

This article is written for those individuals that enjoy career and life’s challenges and have a toolbox of talent and skills to make a difference somewhere and worthwhile to improve on encounters to maximize their contributions to their own self and that of the organization they belong to as they face the daily issues that works overtime to defeat them in spirit and morale called stress and fatigue.

Defining your abilities to face personal challenges means you have a responsibility to remain fit and alert throughout the work day as well as your personal activities. Everything you do is a reflection of your character, your abilities, skills and knowledge how to handle adversity and overcome barriers in your personal life or in the workplace. There are no exceptions and no gaps in this circle of your life.

Lack of sleep is a prerequisite to burnout or being unable to meet your work standards or expectations. It is not just the mere fact of not getting enough sleep but the consequences of running on empty to address these stress issues that exist in the workplace. Remember that no matter where you work, there are extreme business practices and political cultures defined by cultural expectations that measure success and productivity.

It stands to reason that burnout is unacceptable as standards to perform are based on another person’s expectations to meet the bar they set for your success ladder to exist. Burnout impact your work ethics, your abilities to complete tasks given in a timely manner and your energy drive to hang in there for the long run. Most organizations go for the marathon and not the sprint. This impacts your accomplishment severely if you burn the candle at both ends either professionally or socially. The bottom line is your actions and activity must prove you can do it all when tasked with the responsibilities and assignment for those special projects.

You must strive to remain to be in self-control of your own actions and energy. You must be willing to show at a moment’s notice you are a capable performer and ready to meet the challenge head on. In other words, you must be better than the others and prove you are the right person for the challenge, the promotion and the career change when that decision comes around the table to be made.

Setting up an office setting that is conducive in productivity, keep scheduled appointments and be ready to be mobile are important decisions to be made and are critical when you have to respond with a moment’s notice. Act like if you are a Boy or Girl Scout, you must always be prepared.

In order to remain fresh you must plan to have some down time. Some quiet places where you can sleep, rest, read, walk or just meditate to stay focused on your life. You must always be ready to hit the fast track and respond minute to minute to challenges given to you because of your ability and knowledge how to handle them. You must remain untired and always relaxed for that is the state of mind you can be most effective.

Learning how to deal with fatigue and stress are the two most important elements of a successful career plan and the rest will fall into place as you focus on meeting the challenges head on and be successful in all those endeavors you choose to undertake and successfully complete with a satisfaction of doing it the right way and with the right level of enthusiasm and energy,

The success also impacts the personal home front and is an important element of your life not to neglect. Learning how to be rested, flexible and creative with high energy does not only apply in the workplace. It applies at home as well as you learn to balance the two for a complete life rather than a singular position of working only for a career.  Working a high stress job that is not managed impacts how you deal in your relationships with spouses, kids, and family.

How we structure our life at home or at work is about personal health and reducing the role stress plays in your daily activities. We already know that high stress impacts high blood pressure, heart diseases and diabetes and must be under control at all times. When you are untired your health increases and allows you to perform at a maximum level rather than adequate or mere meeting the standards set.  Being untired affects your decision making, your role within the workplace or family and avoids disasters or accidents to keep you safe.

Sleep deprivation impacts the unconscious mind [mental performance] as it destructively impacts our ability to control our own emotions, our moods, and our ability to focus on problem solving issues at hand. It impacts cognitive abilities and stands in the way of failure or success for those individuals that desire a better career and an improved quality of living.

Is the Act of Degrading our freedoms Dangerous?

There appears to be a trend going on in our country and its running rampant as the rain in a southwest monsoon rainstorm. The fact is many people aren’t aware how their own actions, words and feelings impact their wellness and the wellness of our society in a whole. This leads to false perceptions and false confidence that our states of affairs are in order and there is no need to worry about the future of our nation.

Without argument, we must now admit we are headed on a course of self-destruction as we face the fact that our government is out of control and no longer representing our basic rights to pursuit happiness and live in an orderly society governed by our Constitution. We have become apathetic to other’s needs and engaged in name calling and degrading other people by race, by ethnicity or by religious preference when at one time, these were sacred and off limits to attack or face the socially imposed banishment or impeachment for your radical or extreme thoughts to harm others.

Our founding fathers would tremble with disappointment as they see a country unrecognizable as it has decayed, eroded and wasted into a land where morality and ideology has been replaced with oppressive viewpoints, hate and condemnation of others in the name of seeking justice or fairness for all.

Is there hope that America will get back on track and if so, what will it take to bring back our Constitutionality out of this cage of bars that prevents us from being free like once before. Is the solution simple or too complex to understand and is it necessary to revolt against the government and its mandate to strip us from our Constitutional rights and implement their own plans of tyranny and oppression.

One of the best ways to get back America is to hold every action every lawmaker every role the government makes responsible to the people. It [government or government officials] must take the appropriate action to ask the people if this is what they want and not the other way around where the mandate is dictated to the people.

 We must resist all those efforts to remove God out of our language and places where we live, work or pray and resist efforts to enjoin the attempts to make the world a one world godless country that strays away from every fiber that made America what our founding fathers created.

We must exercise every bit of our freedoms that we still have and exist and fight any efforts to strip us of our liberties and rights. We must not use excuses of fear and terrorism to surrender our freedoms and we must not allow courts of godless men decide how we must accept religion or any other sacrament offered to free men and women.

We can’t just talk about it ~ we must live it. We must stop the government in its role of expansion and restrict them to the role of protection of life [freedom from foreign invasions] and property, nothing else. We must remove their regulation in those areas that impacts our daily lives and keep their hands off our money, our resources and pay them only what is allowed by law as taxes and equities liable for services rendered. 

We must oppose those elected and appointed in nonelected a position that allows them to perform unlawful acts while in office without consequences and elect only those that will uphold their oath to the Constitution and not men in power that abuse their offices for usurping and tyrannical purposes. We must not allow them so much personal gain they become so powerful and hard to tumble.

We do not propose the use of violence as it has been demonstrated that such an act can be done without violence. We don’t need to do it with violent behaviors to reverse this trend of persecution and selective erosion of personal rights and freedoms at increments that will go unnoticed to many but nevertheless most dangerous to all.

Our government has become a pathologically motivated liar. They lie about everything to justify and satisfy their needs and power grabs.  We must confront their facts and tell the truth so we will no mislead others into thinking the government is doing the right thing for the good of many and justify the means to gain it all.

So what do we do? How do we deal with this division of our land? What have we overlooked to bring America back on track? It is suggested we look at some things and discuss their place in a lawful orderly society and change accordingly. Itemizing our needs we come up with:

 

·        Looking at our two party system and decide whether it is time to break this tradition and take in other parties for national, state and local elections

·        We must look at the electoral process and see how voters’ fraud and outright voters manipulation has designed the electoral vote system obsolete and in favor of what is less than popular vote yet counted as the winning vote.

·        We must look at what degraded America and realize what she has become with government entities and healthcare carried on the backs of working people and provided to those that don’t want to work for a living.  This does not include social security or other military pensions but it does include benefits such as Medicare for welfare participants and other entitlement programs that give nothing back in return adding up a huge deficit and foreign debt we will eventually be unable to pay back to foreign powers.

·        It includes the degrading of our educational and school systems as we allow our children to be inferior in their minds and give power to those that were benefactors of private schooling and government sponsored subsidies.

·        We must replace our President and Congress with men and women willing to stand up to corruptive measures and stop our soaring debt.

·        Looking at the looming plague above us we must stop the homophobic attitudes of race warfare, gender smashing and broken down neighborhoods that offer nothing for our kids to grow up in except violence and poverty

·        We must empower the police to be public servants [versus government servants] and focus their energy on improving neighborhood relations and eradicate street gangs and cold blooded murderers that focus on innocent people including our kids in schools and mass shootings in shopping malls and other public places.

·        We must stop degrading people of different colors, sexual orientation and religious beliefs and focus on harmony and sharing cultures that brings together strength rather than a weakness.

·        We must stop the war on drugs and focus on other things more important such as finding the treatments of cancer and other diseases that take the lives of many without recourse of treatment or cures.

Most of all we must stop the association of politician in outright illegal and legal involvement with organized crime, lobbyist with selfish interests, and allow hired criminals to do the job for them to assassinate [by homicide and media slandering of their reputation etc] and remove those individuals that pose a threat to their existence, their philosophy and their ambitions.

No politician should be holding office that is ultimately a traitor and manipulator of our political systems for their own gains and the desires of big money and motivated by corporate and personal ambitions.

We must come to realization that there is no real difference between ideologies of those elected Democrats or Republicans as both are eager to win the vote for selfish reasons. They are ideologically engaged in a façade of warfare for the sake of the observers but join together forces when it benefits them both mutually and not for the good of our country therefore playing us like puppets and making their conflict a farce in every sense of the word.

We can’t fight our government with muskets and ride our horses into battle as we have no cannons big enough to withstand their terror. We can’t engage into an armed mutiny such as Waco and lose every woman man and child along the way. The government has computer guided drones that will pick us apart in the name of fighting domestic terrorism.

We must re-establish the parity between the phrases “We the People” and the government. We must begin to mistrust our government and encourage freedom thinking of all those engaged in their employment including their military men and women. To some degree we must distrust our military leaders that have sold their souls to the man in power and will do whatever it takes to fulfill his desires.

We must accept the fact that government is the enemy of the people. The larger it grows the more it consumes in rights, property and power. The bottom line is we need to protect ourselves from our own government. More people have been killed, imprisoned or detained in the name of our government and its desires for controls are growing. Governments murder, torture and ruin personal lives every day with deliberate purposes and agendas.

Government has destroyed more natural resources than any corporate entity, confiscated more wealth from victims and criminals in the name of justice. They have sold illegal guns to foreign powers and drug cartels to embellish their own roles in the war on drugs to justify its own actions and calculated efforts to imprison every human being that resists their natural laws of control.

The relentless fury over gun control has dominated every source of media out there and is out of control. There are speculations of presidential executive orders restricting or confiscating our guns that are guaranteed within the contents of our United States Constitution. Many questions have been posed by elected and non-elected officials how these proposals will play out at the end and if anything can be done to curb the violent trend in America related to mass shootings inside our shopping malls, college campuses and schools.

One group of Utah sheriffs have taken the proactive approach by writing a letter to the President of the United States that states in part "Make no mistake, as the duly-elected sheriffs [of] our respective counties, we will enforce the rights guaranteed to our citizens by the Constitution. No federal official will be permitted to descend upon our constituents and take from them what the Bill of Rights--in particular Amendment II--has given them.

It goes and adds that “The citizenry must continue its ability to keep and bear arms, including arms that adequately protect them from all types of illegality," and basically warns the federal government that if the ban for guns is acquired through an executive order without debate or legislative action, they will refuse to confiscate such weapons from their constituency.

Police officers are strange fellows to say the least. There are good cops and bad cops but when it comes to enforcing such a gun control ban, the majority of them are speaking out against such a plan to confiscate guns from their respective law enforcement areas.  Although it is possible that no such action would ever take place there are those who are adamant about this possibility and have stated quite frankly their position on this matter is uncompromised.

Many really seriously doubt the ATF, FBI or Department of Justice will go door to door confiscating assault weapons from anyone. First, it's not in the federal laws or state laws to confiscate weapons from individuals unless pursuant to an arrest of the suspect and when a search warrant has been issued by a judge. Second there never would be enough federal agents to accomplish any such confiscation nationwide even if it were legal to do so. Hereby their goals are clear that they would never violate their oath to the United States Constitution to do or perform actions contrary to the Second Amendment.

However, if  Congress were to reinstate the assault weapons ban, as a police officer they are wondering whether it will be their responsibility to confiscate them separating federal law from state law. As I look around I have learned that strict controls over existing arms failed in many places within the United States as well as other countries thus despite needs-based licensing, storage laws and transportation restrictions the efforts to enforce such a gun control law is very difficult and impractical from many different viewpoints. One must also wonder if some items are being “grandfathered in” as there are mass supplies of proposed accessories and weapons already sold.

Perhaps the answer to this entire this are two solutions that have been proposed in some states already. Either everybody that has no felony record and not restricted by law from owning a gun carries a gun all the time or we do away with guns all together and mandates all of them [police included] carry a stick.

After all, the police in United Kingdom carry nothing but stick so perhaps that is the solution for taking control of our guns in this country. Of course this stick carrying mandate would apply to the police as well and then the only ones that have guns are the criminals or those that refuse to obey the laws and use them in the commission of a crime against person’s property or state.

The United Kingdom is made up of four constituent countries: England, Scotland, Wales (which make up Great Britain) and Northern Ireland. In Northern Ireland, all police officers carry firearms. In the rest of the United Kingdom, police officers do not carry firearms, except in special circumstances. One can imagine why police officers carry guns in Northern Ireland and the need is expressed around violence and resistance against government forces. The United States of America falls into this same category as we fear domestic terrorism as well as foreign attacks.

This originates from the formation of the Metropolitan Police Service in the 19th century, when police were not armed, partly to counter public fears and objections over armed enforcers as this had been previously seen due to the British Army maintaining order when needed. The arming of police in Great Britain is a perennial topic of debate.

So the question is do Americans want the right to carry guns as well as their police force or do they want to be subjected to the rules of military laws when their guns are taken away and martial law exists if the police are not empowered to carry guns either on duty or off duty. This sounds a lot like the makings of another revolution alike the one of 1776 against England as America was a mere colony and oppressed and dictated to by a foreign power.

However, I pray these options will never be and should never be on the negotiations table for gun control. The answer is in individual responsibilities of owning a gun or the person’s right to refuse to possess a weapon inside their home or property.  Gun control is not working as they are established today.

As a retired law enforcement officer, I would never participate in the confiscation of privately owned guns or weapons. I would rather face the jail time than step up against our Second Amendment as it stands today. I am confident that many other LEO’s feel the same way as I do.

The government and the President must acknowledge that when Congress or the office of the POTUS pass laws or directives contradictory to our Constitution, their bans or restrictions will be very similar to those of prohibition days and the 1994 ban of assault weapons as the public will continue to find ways to buy such weapons, articles of accessories or high capacity magazines and for most certain a fact that criminals will never give up their guns as it is the leverage against those that fall victim to the predatory and violent ways to commit crimes against persons or state.  

Other incidents come to mind where there were acts of discriminatory and biased judgment orders given during WWII against our Japanese American citizens and placed them in detainment control units so they could not plot against our government’s efforts to fight the war in the Pacific.

Japanese-American internment was the relocation and internment by the United States government in 1942 of about 110,000 Japanese Americans and Japanese who lived along the Pacific coast of the United States to camps called "War Relocation Camps," The internment of Japanese Americans was applied unequally throughout the United States. All who lived on the West Coast of the United States were interned, while in Hawaii, where the 150,000-plus Japanese Americans composed over one-third of the population, an estimated 1,200 to 1,800 were interned.

Of those interned, 62% were American citizens. President Franklin D. Roosevelt authorized the internment with Executive Order 9066, issued February 19, 1942, This illustrates that government is not always aware of our constitutional rights and threatens the existence of our Bill or Rights.

There is also the right to privacy/expectation of privacy as established by the US Supreme Court. Our homes are considered private, and unless a citizen(s) are a person of interest, then it is no one's business if there are guns in the house. The only exception to that would be if LE is doing a house to house search for a fugitive, and ask if there are guns for the safety of the officers not for confiscation purposes.

The meddling of our Bill of Rights will lead to further intrusion of our right to speech, press, lawful search and seizure, to vote and to remain silent if the words can cause self-incrimination for the individual. There is more than gun control at stake here. Once allowed to be enforced and altering the Constitution, the United States of America will no longer be a free society founded on the very principles that were written and adopted to prevent tyranny and government control over people’s lives.

Last but not least was the major impact of President Obama signing in his executive order related to gun control. Within a week of his announced ban, there were record breaking sales of the very items proposed to be banned and not sold to the public via private gun dealers to private gun owners.

 However, the fact remains that there are no current executive orders specifically banning guns or confiscation of weapons in any shape or form.  Reading the 23 executive orders it shows no impact on the guns people currently own-or would like to purchase- and that all proposals related to banning assault weapon and accessories will be proposed for Congressional action.

Political Suicide for 2013

People are tired of the status quo inside our state and country. We, the American people are being overwhelmed by political rhetoric on gun control and many other topics that have invaded our living rooms and brought us nothing but propaganda or fear mongering but no real action by government to solve the problems today.

It’s time to rebel against the way government is doing business today. It is time to tell politicians to follow a different beat of the drum as it is time to address those things that have been set aside because of political distractions by those elected to public service and not following their oath of office.

Every state will have to address their own priorities in the manner they believe them to be appropriate. For Arizona people, they need to begin a grassroots effort to address education and mental health laws that are being stalled out due to political forces opposing change and following the whims of their lobbyist or corporate sponsors rather than the will of the people.

Governor Janice Brewer and the legislature need to take the lead. She needs to make sure that her state of the state address fulfills her goals as many were good and sound government ideas as well as proposals. We need to encourage legislative reforms in gun control, mental health reforms and education for our kids. Although I discourage too much regulation and keep government small, there is a dire need to address these issues promptly and effectively. To do nothing is just not acceptable any longer.

State leaders should take the lead and address health costs and the coverage as well as premiums that have impacted the middle class with higher medical premiums and less take-home wages in their paychecks starting this year.

The governor should insist on job creation bills to improve our economy as we reduce the funding for prisons and their tremendous growth over the past five years. She should know that her priorities with prisons has drastically reduced funding for schools and to remain on that course would be harmful and dangerous for Arizona as well as her and those that follow such an agenda.

I hope our state leaders avoid political suicide in 2013 as they take this opportunity to redefine Arizona priorities and agree to re-allocate funding and take a new approach towards the manner guns are sold at gun shows and valid background checks are conducted to avoid them falling into the hands of criminals and not law-abiding citizens that are responsible gun owners and citizens in this state.

Excerpt from the new ebook ~ Standing Rogue

Standing rogue is standing rogue with many people around the world and not just in Arizona. Paying close attention to the current events around you and seeing how governments have grown and invaded our personal space and privacy makes me wrestle with the notion that we are becoming a subject to a tyrannical organization one way or another. Losing our individuality and civil rights along the way is not acceptable and should be the order of the day to resist.

I rejoice when I hear the victories of good versus evil and cheer those that made it happen. I am pleased with the fact that we are still living under our Constitution but fear it may diminish in impact and influence by the way government finds ways to circumvent their meanings and intent.

I fear tampering with our Bill of Rights and the First and Second Amendments as they do so much to protect us from evil.  I fear the erosion of our Fourth Amendment to reasonable searches and our Fifth where we must self-incriminate ourselves in the next order of rule of law.

After the shooting of the Newtown Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut there  is much talk about stripping away our guns for the sake of public safety when in fact, the opposite would be true if only criminals carry guns and innocents are left behind to fend for themselves and wait for a police officer to respond to their needs when in fact we know that today, in our society, we can have a pizza delivered in less time than it takes a police officer to come to our aid and protect us from harm.

I fear that ordinary people like you and me are under the influences of evil doers that don’t hesitate to treat and subject vulnerable people to inhumane and violations of our morality and humanity. Torturing people is unacceptable and must be erased from our vocabulary and our underworld practices as well as our social means to end most suffering and treat each other with fairness and kindness every day.

As American we are envisioned to be more humane, more charitable and more compassion that any other country in the world. We must maintain that position and not give into evil.

I am pleased to see the military change their stand on homosexuality and discrimination towards those that have the courage and pride to fight for our country no matter what their sexual orientation is or was. We all knew this kind of behavior in the past was wrong, unjust and illegal from the start and contrary to our values of a free and democratic country.

I am displeased with the immunity and failure for government officials, elected and non-elected individuals to not be punished for failing to obey the fundamental rule of law and the common golden rule of decency towards all. I am stunned at the way operatives serving against our constitution and country’s laws are receiving immunity to proceed with their illegal ways and not investigated or punished for their secret ordering of advising or engaging in conduct such as the Fast and Furious weapons scandal or the manner Jesus Diaz was treated as a pawn for our government’s relationship with Mexico.

I find that LEOAC president Andy Ramirez has been a staunch opponent of this type of injustice and has repeatedly told the truth about government corruption in high places and noting that our border wars are failing both our expectations and the rule of law in this land. I am saddened by the death of border agents dying in the line of duty due to carelessness of our government taking the lives of heroes such as Brian Terry and the manner the agency carries their rule of engagement that gives the outlaws the benefit of doubt in any armed confrontation.

I find the attitude of Eric Holder as our Attorney General appalling and will never accept the justification for his continued disservice to this country while performing conduct that is wrong, unjust, illegal, contrary to our values and therefore inexcusable.

 

I likewise find the attitude of Governor Brewer and her Chief of Staff a violation of the rule of decency and rule of law related to the detainment of the mentally ill prisoners in the state as failing to obey these fundamental rules of protecting humanity from suffering and extreme harm.

Most of all, I cannot see why the missions of those non-elected officials are not being overseen or regulated by those in control and power to do so without infringing on our civil rights or political aspirations to be elected or re-elected in the near future.

Governor Brewer should and must conduct her own independent investigation of the underworld as it has been revealed and determine is these individuals violated laws intended to protect vulnerable people for this Hell-hole treatment today.

It must be re-iterated that moral leadership must hold those violators morally accountable and responsible for intentional misconduct, including misconduct perpetrated under the pretext of following orders.

Getting back to basic includes looking at those laws that prohibit inhumanity and torture, whether physical or mentally. If Governor Brewer believes that these violators are not wrong in carrying out their injustices then she must face the fact that she is having her own conflict with the rule of decency and the laws that deplore and detest the use of torture and reject inhumanity. This by itself must be resolved at the polling sites where the electorate can be a voice for humanity.

Is it not otherwise a moral right for the state’s chief executive officer to say that we deplore and reject inhumanity and torture?  

Not wishing scandals or other embarrassing moments in her term of control she must not hinder or reject proposals for investigating her nominated and approved director of the prison agency immediately and glean what his respective role is or was to the demise of humanity inside prisons.

If anything Brewer should make an official statement that her expectations of the rule of decency applies to all, free and incarcerated and must carry with it sanctions that are appropriate by law and moral codes established to protect mankind.

If anything, the investigations conducted by an independent non-political source should make official statements about no person being above the law—or beyond the law—credible.

 

"We grope like the blind along a wall, groping like those who have no eyes; we stumble at noon as in the twilight, among the vigorous as though we were dead. We all growl like bears; like doves we moan mournfully. We wait for justice, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far from us." (Isaiah 59:10-11)
